as rootquest is still ongoing, the creator (fileto) has been known to retroactively change small things in past pages of the comic (mainly graphical touch-ups and altering singular chat logs from the characters) for... flow? brevity's sake? some reason, i'm sure.
or at least that's what we thought until pages 45-48 were drastically altered from what they were originally (being a sequence where root falls out of frame into the page itself, it is where we saw DIVIDING DEITY for the first time). maybe there was some good reason for that, perhaps fileto is trying to establish some common rules for this so-far anything-goes magical world, and that was simply too abstract and unexplainable for what he has in mind. whatever that reason may be, it's still quite a drastic change from what us readers so far knew happened in the comic; even if it was a little out-there, i think it was a really cute sequence where root learned to read her own name.
so that's why this exists, so that in case this ever happens again, those chat logs and comic panels aren't suddenly wiped with us scratching our heads as to if they ever existed. i know i've gone a little crazy a few times re-reading rootquest and not seeing messages i vividly remember being there due to damnatio memoriae.
for fun's sake, i'll also try to make recreations of panels/log messages that i saw and knew existed until they were changed/wiped. some of these were literally up
for less than a few hours and have also been up to over a year ago, so you're gonna have to take my word for it that they really did exist and forgive my
not-quite-elephantine brain in case they aren't very detailed or accurate. you will know what are real archived panels/logs and which are recreations.
(if you remember things better than i do and would like to help me out in that... shoot me an email: rootquestarchive@gmail.com)
i don't want this place to act as some online mirror for reading the entirety of rootquest, so the only readable pages in the viewer will be ones that have had any
changes.
i would also like to make it clear that i understand that rootquest is not finished, i also understand that reading rootquest concurrently and
retroactively are rather different experiences, and so i get and respect these changes when they happen; however, i also want to be able to see what they were before
for memory's sake - i would like to still have the pages i experienced in real time to be accessible.
